Over ten days in August, the Diablerets International Alpine Film Festival (FIFAD) screens about thirty films competing for the Grand Prize. The alpine resort then becomes the cultural centre of the region, welcoming about 20,000 spectators.
A key cultural event in the resort of Les Diablerets, the FIFAD is a popular festival appealing to lovers of nature, challenges and, of course, the mountain. The eclectic programme includes poetic films, sometimes dramatic, but always moving. While the selection focuses on Swiss landscapes, mountains have no borders and foreign films are also strongly featured.
With exhibitions, talks and a bookshop, visitors can learn all about the mountain and the environment and the festival canteen offers a warm alpine atmosphere at the end of the day or between films.
